About

Tree of Life

Tree of Life has numerous meanings to different people. We believe that the Tree of Life represents connection, growth, strength, individuality, and peace. Personally, it means understanding pure truth of who we were made to be and finding the restoration after trauma and the difficulties of life. From a biblical perspective the Tree of Life is what sustains and nourishes life, it is the symbol of humanity free from the corruption of sin and represents love. It is also believed that the Tree of Life has healing properties. Tree of Life Counseling is a professional and collaborative counseling service that is passionate about facilitating growth in people and helping them experience the fullness of life. We want each person to experience the highest quality of affordable counseling, support services and resources. We utilize evidence-based psychotherapy approaches and sound psychological theory that promotes emotional health, improves quality of life, supports healthy goals & growth, and reconcile relationships. We offer services to all people regardless of age, color, culture, disability, ethnicity, national origin, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, or socioeconomic status. We respect the dignity and worth of all people, and your rights to privacy. Although our therapists have a Christian Foundation and Faith is the cornerstone of who we are, we highly respect your own beliefs. We will work with you from your own perspective because no client needs to hold to our beliefs to receive the best professional service we can provide. MEET OUR TEAM: Michelle Desrochers, MH, MS, LMHC-QS Counseling provides an opportunity to catch your breath and develop the tools needed to move forward leaving a difficult past behind. Even when the past is painful, counseling can help clients to see beyond the pain and provide a path to healing. This is especially true for children that have experienced trauma, loss and struggle with emotion regulation. I believe in working with the family to repair relationships which is essential for not only helping the children but to also help parents and caregivers heal from generational trauma. As a Christian I welcome the opportunity to incorporate Christian Counseling into therapy upon a client’s request. As a retired military officer, I have a special interest in working with clients struggling with military related issues, PTSD and Trauma. I also love working with children and their families. There are awful things that happen to children and although I wish this wasn’t the case, I am so honored to be a part of the healing process. I am EMDR Certified and incorporate Theraplay, CPP and trauma focused principles into therapy. Tammy Sutton, MSW, LCSW, RPT ™ Life is beautiful yet challenging at times. When faced with difficulties in life and/or trauma, one seeks to survive and oftentimes utilizes unhealthy coping skills which then leads to more challenges. You don’t have to face the challenges alone. I am passionate about providing a safe place and walking with you on your journey to wholeness. I am a licensed clinical social worker, trained in Sand Tray, Trauma Focused-CBT, and TBRI. I am a Registered Play Therapist™ and EMDR Certified. I have received additional, specialized training in working with complex trauma and children. My specialties include mood and anxiety disorders, trauma/PTSD with ages 4 and up. I have experience in working with children and adolescents and helping them heal from their past sexual abuse. I enjoy working with clients individually and in groups. It is never too late to begin therapy. For adults who have experienced past trauma, you do not have to be bound by your past pain and feel stuck in a life of fear, guilt, loneliness, and shame and still be a victim to the intrusive thoughts and memories of your past. I am hopeful that you can live a life of freedom and I would be honored and privileged to help guide you in identifying and processing your past trauma, so you can be free to focus on your present and future goals. Aundrea "Denise" Hudson, LMHC, NCC "Are you ready to rediscover the joy and strength in your relationships?" I'm Denise Hudson, a compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) dedicated to guiding individuals and couples toward healing and growth. With specialized training in the Gottman Method for couples therapy, I am committed to helping committed partners navigate challenges and rediscover the deep connection they once shared. In addition to my expertise in marriage counseling, I am passionate about trauma recovery. I integrate evidence-based therapies such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to support clients in overcoming past experiences and reclaiming their inner peace. My practice extends to clients aged 11 and above, recognizing that healing knows no age limit. Whether you're a teen struggling with self-identity or an adult navigating life transitions, I am here to offer a safe space where your story is heard and honored. As a practitioner credentialed in sandtray therapy, I believe in the power of creative expression to unlock emotions and facilitate healing. Every client's journey is unique, and I am committed to tailoring my approach to best meet your individual needs and goals. For those seeking counseling from a Christian perspective, I offer guidance rooted in a Christian worldview upon request. My faith informs my practice, emphasizing empathy, hope, and resilience as integral parts of the therapeutic process. Together, we can embark on a journey toward healing and transformation. Let's work together to uncover your strengths, navigate life's challenges, and rediscover the joy that comes from living authentically and wholeheartedly. Amanda Roberts, MA, Registered Clinical Mental Health Intern “You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” – Maya Angelou Are you a teen or adult struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, abuse, or adjustments in life? Maybe you’re having difficulties with work, school, or relationships? Or do you just feel stuck dealing with life’s challenges? Do you find yourself saying, “I just don’t know what else to do to stop feeling this way?” Success in life is about problem identification and resolution, resilience, and using practical coping skills and strategies. With a focus on trauma, I can help you find healing by identifying the root cause of troubling behaviors and the connected thoughts and emotions through an integrated approach informed by Psychodynamic Theory, Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Expressive Arts, and Attachment Theory. This process allows me to listen to you, be nonjudgmental, teach skills, and provide support throughout the process. Together we will work to identify and define your challenges, set goals, learn interventions, and develop an individualized plan to move your life in the direction you want.
